Inama uses a selection of some of its oldest vines, from vineyards (vigneti) on volcanic Mount Foscarino in the Soave Classico area. The vineyards face east, catching the morning sun but avoiding the afternoon heat, which helps to maintain the beautiful floral notes and the minerality but with a deeper and more complex texture.

About Inama

Stefano Inama is one of those producers who embodies respect for tradition. But he is constantly thinking and striving to do more and better and isn’t afraid to take risks. He spent a lot of time talking with long-time local growers about what Soave was like decades ago. This was when it was one of the best-known whites in the world. From these discussions, he learned that the Garganega grape responded better to some old-fashioned techniques. This included longer skin contact and less sulfur usage. Accordingly, intervention during winemaking is now kept to a minimum.
 
The grapes undergo a short maceration and gentle pressing. Then there is a temperature-controlled fermentation. A spontaneous malolactic fermentation follows. Ultimately, bottling comes with a minimum of fining and filtration. The winery has also conducted research into clonal selection and canopy management. The goal here is maximizing fruit concentration while retaining varietal typicity.
 
Inama has succeeded in combining ancient grape varieties, forgotten practices, and modern technology. to produce both white and red wines that are benchmarks for northeastern Italy.
