2019 Malbec, Sierra Alta, Mendoza, Argentina - 1 x 6 box
Sierra Alta translates as 'high mountains' which we think is rather fitting for this wine; 'low hillock' just wouldn't have cut it. You see, while Sierra Alta might be a reference to the high aspect at which these grapes are grown, giving the wine balance and finesse, it's also of incredibly 'Alta' quality. With vibrant flavours of black cherry, ripe plum and hints of chocolate over supple tannins, this Malbec is such a natural monolith of a wine, that its summit has broken through the clouds and there's goats jumping all over its north facing slope... Ah metaphors, can't live with them... can't appropriately use them to describe delicious high altitude Malbec's.
This well balanced Malbec certainly offers a lot of flavour for the money. It's grown in the high altitude vineyards of Mendoza where intense sunshine for most of the year and cool night time temperatures produce grapes that create wines with a perfect balance between flavour and texture.
A vibrant and juicy Malbec made from grapes grown at high altitude in Mendoza.
